IC Information
CHARACTER NAME; Waver Velvet
AGE; 18
CANON; Fate/Zero
CANON POINT; Post-series
FAMILY TYPES; Wind Guardians, Nature Spirits, Jungle Troopers

APPEARANCE; Waver stands at about 5'2" (157cm) and weighs 110lbs. (50kg) Needless to say, he's a little small for an eighteen-year-old and generally looks a few years younger than that. He has dark green eyes and black hair kept at about chin length; mistaking him for a girl at first glance would occasionally be forgivable. (Not by him, certainly. Just in general.) On the back of his right hand are mostly faded traces of red Command Spells in a particular pattern. Additionally, he favors an outfit most notably consisting of a green sweater, white collared shirt, and blue tie with thin yellow stripes.

PERSONALITY;

Waver is a rare example of a male character with elements of a tsundere personality type. He often keeps to himself; as a matter of fact, he is largely lacking in actual friends and is often lonely despite not acknowledging the fact. As an intellectual sort whose tendency to research and study a given matter borders on the obsessive. As a result, he is incredibly intelligent and likely even a genius--however, the environment of the Clock Tower has resulted in him rarely (if ever) being taken seriously or in fact listened to whatsoever. This led him to develop something of an inferiority complex; though he covers it up with a measure of spite and anger, Waver often believes himself and his skills simply not good enough.

Though he is a bit solitary, Waver also has a tendency to occasionally react in dramatic form if slighted (usually by Rider). Shouting, arm-waving, the whole nine angry yards. He is quick to get flustered, but often manages to be reasonable and think problems through logically before doing anything drastic, as with the analysis of the Mion River and discovery of Caster's workshop.

At first, it would be an easy mistake to say Waver seems unreliable or even a little cowardly. He displays a tendency to panic when in danger, often paired with the aforementioned habit of overreacting. This goes even as far as outright fainting by the end of the Holy Grail War's first conflict. Yet considering the kind of life-or-death situations he is shoved into in canon, it is likely safe to say his reactions lean more towards 'normal student' than 'standard protagonist'. However susceptible he may be to fear and intimidation, Waver gradually learns to become a more courageous individual thanks to the guidance of his Servant; by the series' end he stands his ground before even Gilgamesh despite his own fear.

Rider's influence was a sudden and extreme thing in Waver's life, leaving his resultant character growth miles from the childish individual he began as. While still hesitant and fearful at times, he becomes someone more steadfast and loyal. Waver refuses to back down when it counts and regards himself as a proud follower of Iskander; as such his loyalty to his former Servant is absolutely without question. He currently stands in a difficult and contradictory middle ground where he simultaneously holds himself to the standards of the king's subject and yet occasionally thinks himself unworthy in one respect or another, whether it should be in matters of skill, intelligence, or strength.

Following the Fourth Holy Grail War, Waver has been set on a path to harden his resolve, gradually turning him into a slightly more mature and vastly emotionally stronger individual. Within the following years, that resolve will lead him to become a stern but popular and brilliant teacher at the very Clock Tower that ridiculed him, with aspirations of dismantling the Holy Grail itself.

THIRD PERSON;

"This is completely ridiculous..."

Scowling, Waver turned the small device he'd been given over and over in his hand. A Digivice, right? Most magi would have a stroke upon sight of things like this, technophobic as they were. In that respect, Waver had been lucky. A student of no notable bloodline was more 'human' than the holier-than-thou aristocracy set in their ancient ways, he thought. Then again, he considered as he stared at the apartment's ceiling, perhaps 'more human' was a little harsh. 'Down-to-earth', maybe.

He was getting off track. Semantics wouldn't change the facts; he was stuck in a world where even his meager skills at magecraft were nonexistent. This was an unfamiliar place, unfamiliar circumstances, and as everything stood he just felt useless. He had barely even spoken to his partner since arriving, so difficult it was to even comprehend his situation.

Waver's scowl turned to something more despondent as he looked to the Digivice he held. This world was in trouble and they thought he could help? Weak especially by magical standards, there simply wasn't much Waver could do alone. And a useless mage without his magic was just...useless, right?

...No. Hell no. The student's expression hardened, determination curling his hand into a fist around the small Digivice. He was not and would never be 'useless' again. What kind of king could have a subject like that? Certainly not the one to which Waver answered.

So he would fight, with a partner if that was how this place worked. He would stand his ground and refuse to back down even an inch. If this world needed help, then he'd give all of what little he had in order to help it. He'd work tirelessly to become stronger, stand taller and carry himself with pride. For lack of a better word: he would have to be unwavering.
